Obituary - Robert Eli Lee

Robert E. Lee, 82, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, November 20, 2014 in Flandreau, SD. Bob was born on October 27, 1932 to Freeland and Lucille (Pickard) Lee in Colman, SD. In his younger years he worked for Mr. Hubbard, delivering milk door to door by horse and wagon. Bob delivered groceries for the local grocery store and mowed lawns so he could buy his first car when he was 13 years old. Bob attended school in Colman and graduated from Colman High School in 1952. He worked for Marvin Pickard shelling corn and driving truck. He served his country in the Korean War from 1952 to 1954. After marrying Gladys Guild on April 12, 1959, they farmed near Colman where they raised three children, who were all his favorites. Bob was very active in the church, serving many years on the church board. He also enjoyed serving on the township board. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Bob made an impact on many people's lives with his deep care and concern for their souls.

Grateful for sharing his life are his wife, Gladys, Colman; daughters, Pam Lee, Hill City, SD, Lisa (Bill) Bartell, Sioux Falls; son, Chad (Sandra) Lee, Colman; 8 grandchildren, Robert, Daniel, Erin , Amanda, Adam, Daniela, Christopher, Mikano; sister, Grace (Fred) Burtelson; brothers, Donald (Donna) Lee, Karl (June) Lee, Merle Lee, and many extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by son, Bradley, parents, brothers, Marvin, LeRoy, and sister, Lila Johnson.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at First Assembly of God, Brookings, SD with burial in Colman Cemetery. Visitation is 4:00 – 7:00 pm Monday with a 7:00 pm prayer service at First Assembly of God, Brookings.
