Robert Hugh Kistler, 78, Marion, died at 4:45 PM Monday, October 5, 2015 in Marion Rehab, surrounded by his loving family and lifelong best friend George White. He was born in Marion to the late Russell and Dorothy (Woods) Kistler. Robert married Lois Wright on June 7, 1997, she survives.

Robert graduated from Marion High School. He worked for RCA and Indiana Bell, eventually joining his father in the family business, Kistler Carpet Service. Robert loved sports. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing basketball, and watching his children play sports in High School. He and his son won the Don Humes Father and Son Golf Championship in 1979. He was also very proud of winning the 2009 Monte Carlo Championship with long-time friend Vaughn Huey. Robert enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, especially his granddaughter. He spent the winters in Avon Park, FL and was a member of the Pinecrest Golf Club in Avon Park. Robert was also member of the Elks Lodge and Moose Lodge, and attended Temple Congregational Church.

In addition to his wife, Lois Kistler, Marion, Robert is survived by his son, Jeff (Jennifer) Kistler, Marion; daughter, Karen Kistler, Marion; granddaughter, Meredith Kistler; stepson, Mark Wright, West Palm Beach, FL; brother, Bruce V. Kistler; nephews and nieces; and special friends, Pat Schroder, George White, Roger Cardwell, Tony Herzog, William Morrison, Larry Oyler, and Don Smith.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Dorothy Kistler.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Friday, October 9, 2015 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N Baldwin Ave Marion, IN 46952 with Pastor Marvin Wiseman officiating.

Friends and family may call from 3-7 PM Thursday, October 8, 2015 at the funeral home.
