Obituary - Roger Lynn Hill

HILL, MR. ROGER LYNN - age 74, of New Tazewell, was born January 15, 1940, passed away on January 31, 2014, at Claiborne County Hospital.

He was baptized on July 30, 1950, at First Baptist Church of New Tazewell and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. He was a 1958 graduate of Claiborne County High School and was voted "best actor" in the senior play. Veteran of the U.S. Army, being stationed in France. Worked for Giles Industries and Tri-State Supply and co-owner of Jim Brown Supply in Middlesboro, KY. Roger was a jokester and storyteller but most of all he loved playing with his grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents Don and Alpha Skaggs Hill; sister, Margaret Ann Hill; brother John Paul Hill.

Survived by loving wife of 52 years, Lois Rowland Hill of New Tazewell; daughters, Karen Hill Lioce (Daniel) of Lakewood Ranch, FL; Valerie Hill Moucha (Robert) of New Tazewell; grandchildren, Rebecca Boggs, Matthew Lioce of Lakewood Ranch, FL; Emily Moucha of New Tazewell; brothers, Charles and Carlene Hill of Rockingham, NC, Bill and Lynne Hill of New Tazewell, Lee and Judi Hill of Venice, FL, David and Barbara Hill of Knoxville, TN; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Monday February 3, 2014, from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. at the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in New Tazewell with funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m.

Burial in the Fairview cemetery with Military honors. Officiating: Rev. Kenneth Lucadoo and Rev. Kim Collingsworth; singer, Barbara Hatfield; pallbearers, Matthew Lioce, Paul Hill, Jake Collingsworth, Patrick Patel, Barry Mason, Greg Hill. Coffey funeral Home in charge.
