ALAMANCE - Mr. Roscoe Fuller Clapp, 89, died peacefully on Saturday, March 11, 2000, at Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2000, at Friendship United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. James D. Lockley, Pastor of Alamance Lutheran Church.
Roscoe was born in the village of Alamance, April 19, 1910. He was retired from Kayser Roth Hosiery Corporation after 47 years of service and was a lifelong member of Alamance Lutheran Church.
Roscoe was preceded in death by his parents, James Monroe and Martha Cornelia Clapp; brothers, Banner Dare Clapp, Lake Gladstone Clapp and Lacy Dayton Clapp; sisters, Lillie Esther Clapp, Oneida Viola Clapp Loy and Lalar Vanner Clapp Sharpe.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Helen Rich Clapp of the home; son, Milton Fredrick Clapp and his wife, Mildred Brown Clapp of Burlington; granddaughter, Carmon Victoria Clapp of Burlington; sister, Margaret Elizabeth Clapp of Alamance; and many loving nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, at the Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington and other times at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alamance Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 250, Alamance, N.C. 27201.
