Deceased Name: Reed, Roy John 88, of Decatur died Monday (Nov. 13, 2000)
in Fair Havens Christian Home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Dawson & Wikoff Colonial Chapel North
with visitation one hour before services. Burial will be in Friends Creek
Cemetery.
Mr. Reed was born March 5, 1912, in Decatur, the son of John Elisha and Elsie Colburn Reed. He was a laborer for Local 159 and a member of the VFW. Mr. Reed was an Air Force veteran of World War II. He married Mildred Marie White Jan. 19, 1954. She preceded him in death June 16, 1992.
Surviving are his daughters, Kameron Sumpter and husband Jerry of
Forsyth; Pamela Sue Horvath and husband Joseph of Decatur; sons, Daniel Lynn
Reed and wife Nora of Maroa; Kent Allen Reed of Decatur; brother, Wilbur
Reed and wife Mildred of Decatur; sister, Dorothy Mayfield and husband Jo of
Tahlequah, Okla.; nine granddaughters; one grandson; two stepgrandchildren;
three great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one grandson.
