Obituary - Roy Livesay Jr

Livesay, Roy, Jr., age 85, formerly of Fairborn and Beavercreek, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at the Forest Hills Care Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.

He was born in Jonesville, VA on March 15, 1933, the son of Roy, Sr. and Hattie Mae (Anders) Livesay.

He is also preceded in death by his loving daughter, Carlotta (Livesay) Katra in 2016, his infant son, Randall Alan Livesay, brother, Gene Livesay and an infant sister, Thelma.

Roy is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, June (Quinley) Livesay; his daughter and son-in-law, Bonita and Ed Wiseman; brothers, Albert ”Ben” Livesay and Glenn Livesay; grandchildren, Beth (Patrick) Meneses, Alex (Lillie) Wiseman, Sophie Warner and Steven (Kate) Katra, Jr. and two great grandchildren, Ella June Meneses and Evie Katra. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.

Roy was retired from Phillips Industries and was a member of the Fairborn United Methodist Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Roy was a very active and highly respected member of many Masonic Bodies. Among his most notable accomplishments were serving as Worshipful Master in 1974 and Treasurer for many years. Roy also served the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton faithfully, having received the Meritorious Service Award in 2005 and was coroneted a Sovereign Grand Inspector General, 33 Degree on August 28, 2012, in Cleveland, Ohio. He also was a member of Antioch Temple Shrine, where he was an active participant.

The family will receive guests from 2-4 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2018, at the Fairborn United Methodist Church, 100 N. Broad Street, Fairborn, OH. Masonic and Scottish Rite Ring services will be held at 4:00 p.m followed by the funeral service at 4:30 p.m. officiated by Reverand Dr. Aaron Chivington and Reverend Harvey Smith.

 Interment will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at Valley View Memorial Gardens in Xenia.
