CARTER, RUTH HAMILTON - age 77, of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at her residence. She was a very active member of Clinch River Baptist Church. She loved her church family very much. Ruth had worked as a waitress at Golden Girls Restaurant and Miller's Restaurant. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude & Azie Hamilton; brother, Tom Hamilton & sister, Mary Hamilton. Survivors: husband, Ernest Ray Carter of Clinton; daughter, Brenda Bruner of Lexington, KY; grandson, Christopher Bruner & wife, Jenny of Russellville, KY.; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Madison & Carli Ruth Bruner of Russellville, KY; sisters, Mildred Sweat of Nashville, TN, Bennie Lou Curry of Charlotte, N.C., Jo Ann Grubisic of Mt. Juliet, TN, Wilma Cardwell of Clinton, TN, Helen Phillips of Clinton, TN, Phyllis Miller of Ross, Ohio; brothers, Ray Hamilton of Berea, KY, Buck Hamilton of Loveland, Ohio, Sam Hamilton of Smyrna, TN; several nieces & nephews and host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 17, 2008 from 6-8PM at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday, July 18th at 1:00PM in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Byrge, Rev. Keith Tillman and Rev. Larry Webster officiating. Interment will follow at the Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of the arrangements.
