Obituary - Sarah Kate (Sproles) Kaylor
Sarah K. Kaylor, age 93, of Mendota, VA passed away Friday, October 14, 2016 at Wellmont Bristol Regional Hospital.
She was a loving, caring person who loved to cook, work in her flowers and garden. She had a special love for her children, grand-children, great-grand-children and her son-in-laws.
Sarah was a member of Souls Harbor Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clint and Alice Moore Sproles and her husband, Robert “Jack” Thurman Kaylor.
She is survived by her daughters, Alice Cunningham and husband Jim of Kingsport, TN, Shirley Pippin and husband, Dack of Bristol, VA; Grandchildren: Christi Keller and Kay Cunningham; Great-Grandchildren, Bryce Keller and Madison Ware; several nieces and nephews
The family would like to express a special thanks to her caregivers, Pat Riggsby and Glenda Reynolds and the staff at The Cambridge House.
The funeral will be conducted at 7:00 pm, Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Akard Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Denny Livingston and Rev. Randal Shaffer officiating. The committal and interment will be at 11:00 am, Monday, October 17, 2016 in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Mendota, VA. Honorary Pallbearers will be Matt Hudson, Paul Hughes, Eddie Evans, Creed Dye and Freddie Sproles. The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 pm prior to the service.
