Shirley Gwen Hazen Eaton, formerly of Terre Haute, passed away February 4, 2020 in North Fort Myers, Florida. She was 82 years old and proud of each year. Shirley was born September 23, 1937, in Terre Haute, to Marlan and Gwendolyn Hazen.

Shirley is preceded in death by her devoted husband, David Eugene Eaton and her parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Ginger Moseman of Terre Haute; sons, David P. Eaton of Greenville, N.C., and Michael E. Eaton of Wabash; and daughter, Rhonda S. Cook of Anderson, S.C.

Shirley was known simply as "Ma" by her nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Before retiring to Florida to hone her Bingo and Bunco skills, she worked at the then named Welfare Department of Vigo County as secretary to the Executive Director. A job she remembered as one of the best and most important things she had ever done.
Shirley gave everything she was to her husband, children, and grandchildren asking only that they do the same for their children in return. She loved puppies and spent hours watching her favorite old movies and reading Anne of Green Gables.

Visitation will be at DeBaun Funeral Home Springhill Chapel on Tuesday, February 11 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by funeral services at 1:00 p.m. with burial at Highland Lawn Cemetery to follow. Pastor Mike Brown will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association at LBDA.org.
