Timothy Clark Holmes, lifelong resident of Ponca City went to be with his Lord, Thursday, April 11, 2013. He died at his home under the care of his wife and two children. He was 54.

Tim fought a one-and-a-half-year long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Passionate and determined to beat his cancer, Tim embraced life with positive energy and a remarkable attitude. His true grit was unshakeable during many rounds of chemotherapy, and he never gave up on his will to live.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, at First Baptist Church with Pastor Andy Taylor officiating.
Tim was born on Jan. 31, 1959, to the late Bondford and Elsie Holmes, in Ponca City. He attended Ponca City Public Schools and furthered his education at Oklahoma State University. He married the love of his life, Kelly Buser, on Aug. 31, 1985, in Ponca City. They established their home in Ponca City where they were blessed with a daughter and son. He was a member of First Baptist Church and his spiritual faith helped him through his tough battle.

He began his career as a draftsman working at Conoco Inc. for several years. He then joined FTS as a computer aided draftsman. He was currently employed in the drafting department as a supervisor with Consulting & Field Services. Owners Gary and Donna Page supported Tim faithfully to the end of his illness.

Tim had numerous hobbies which included cooking for his family. His children loved his steaks and their home was their favorite restaurant. He loved the outdoors and all living things. He spent as much time as possible enjoying God’s wonderful gifts. He loved his home and loved working outside making it a showplace.

He loved all sports and enjoyed attending and watching OSU sporting events with his family and friends. On game days their house was the place to cheer on their favorite team. Their house was always open to everyone and it was always a place to have lots of fun.
Tim was a very special person and was loved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed. His priorities in life were God, family and friends. One of his greatest joys was to spend time with his children whether it was fishing, hunting, camping, taking nature walks, sitting by their fire pit, or just sitting around listening to music. The joy of his life was watching his children grow up. He never hesitated to speak about how proud he was of them and what a blessing they were to him.
