Virginia S. Gibson

Gibson, Mrs. Virginia S., Saginaw, Michigan. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2003 at Luther Manor Nursing Home. Age 82 years.

The daughter of the late Fred and Jesse (McCully) Storie, Virginia was born October 20, 1920 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was married to George I. Gibson Sr. on May 10, 1947 in Tennessee. He survives her. Virginia was a member of Saginaw Valley Baptist Church.

Surviving besides her husband George are two sons and one daughter, Woodie Sartor, Lapeer; Claudia Brown, Burton; George I. Gibson Jr. and his wife Arlene, Saginaw; a son-in- law, Gene Laviolette, Davison; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer, Julie and Jill Gibson, Paul and Angela Wojt, Derek and Dennis Brown, Lisa Coburn, Scott, Michael (Charlotte) and Richard (Daiquiri) Laviolette; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sue Lamb, Connecticut; Lou and Frank Pulino, California; several nieces and nephews.

 Virginia was preceded in death by a daughter, Josephine Laviolette.

Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2003 at Saginaw Valley Baptist Church, 3770 N. Center Road. Rev. Gene Riley will officiate with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at Saginaw Valley Baptist Church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
