Services for Wanda V. Houk-Eldridge, 77, of Lubbock will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at Lakeridge Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
Wanda passed away at her house and went home to her Lord and Savior on May 1, 2010.
Wanda was born October 26, 1932 in Clovis, New Mexico to Finis and Johnnie Kimbrough. She graduated from Muleshoe High School, received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Secondary Education from Texas Tech University. Wanda married Jack Houk on June 1, 1955 in Muleshoe, TX. He passed away on September 9, 1992. Wanda was a loving wife and mother; and also a second grade teacher for the LISD for thirty-three years. She married John Eldridge on May 1, 2005 in Muleshoe, TX. Wanda was a charter member of Lakeridge Baptist Church where she was a helper at Vacation Bible School and a singer in the church choir.
Also preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Joe Signor Kimbrough; sister, Donna Nickels; and grandson, Christopher Houk.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, John; her son, Randy and his wife, Beverly; grandchildren, Jacky Houk and Kimberlee Jennings and husband, Trevor; great grandchildren, Damien, Maddox and Jaxson.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m., Tuesday at Sanders Funeral Home.
