Obituary - Wilfred Hugo "Bill" Becker

Died at Douglas County Health Center in Omaha.

Bill was born in Yankton, SD to Marcus John Becker and Mary (Paltz) Becker. He grew up in St. Helena, NE. He was drafted and served from 1957 and 1958 in the United States Army in Oahu, Hawaii at Schofield Barracks.

He married Sharon June Dougherty on August 11, 1962 in Hartington, NE. Bill retired from Omaha Public Power District in 1994 after working as a lineman for 35 years. Bill was the consummate outdoorsman; he loved to hunt and fish. He was also an avid storyteller.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon, of 48 years; his parents; his brother, Donald Becker; his sister, Mercedes Hoebelheinrich; and brothers-in-law, Ray Vornhagen, Orville Paulson, and Thomas Brosnihan.

He is survived by daughter, Susan Becker Mundie and her husband, R. Bruce of Virginia and their daughter, Kathleen; and son, John Becker and his wife Amy Reichstadt Becker of Omaha and their children, Benjamin and Elizabeth. Bill is also survived by siblings and in-laws; Renee Brosnihan, Germaine Becker, Rita Vornhagen, Florenze and Charlene Becker, Rosemarie Paulsen, Charles and Genevieve Schulte, and Alan and Charlotte Wiebelbaus.

VISITATION Friday, March 11th from 2pm with family present 6-8pm. Rosary at 6:30pm at Crosby Colonial Chapel, Omaha. MASS of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, March 12th at 10:30am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington. Inurnment in St. Michael's Cemetery, Hartington, NE.
