Obituary - William E "Bill" Powell

BRISTOL, Va. – William E. "Bill" Powell, age 82, passed away Monday, April 9, 2007, at Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Bristol, the son of the late O.T. and Bess Hardin Powell. He was a retired employee of Univac and a member of the Central Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Powell was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Richard Powell, in 2005.
Survivors include his daughter, Julie E. Powell of Bristol Virginia; one sister, Lois P. Walling of Bristol Virginia; three nephews, W. Challen Walling, Mark W. Walling and Jeffrey P. Walling, all of Bristol Virginia; several great-nieces and great-nephews; one great-great-niece; one great-great-nephew; and a special cousin, Eunice M. Wheeler of Bristol Virginia.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2007, in the chapel of Central Presbyterian Church, with Dr. David Wadsworth officiating. A private burial will be held in Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service in the chapel.
