William "Bill" Barker

William Earl “Bill” Barker Jr., age 74, of Bristol, Va., passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. 

 

Bill was born in Washington County, VA., a son of the late Elizabeth and Earl Barker. Bill retired from Washington County, Virginia. He loved spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sue; son, Nickey Sr.; great grandson, Gabriel Lynn; mother-in-law and father-in-law, William and Mabel Booher; nephew, Tony Hicks; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Raymond and Faye Hicks; and brothers-in-law, Bobby Booher and Zeb Booher.

He is survived by his daughter, Sherrie Keeling and husband, Willie; daughter-in-law, Susan Barker and friend, Rocky; sister, Ginger Ringley and husband, Mac; four grandsons, Nickey Jr. and fiancé, Randi Tidball, Billy Bob, Scotty and fiancé, Kelly McMurray, and Chuck Barker; eighteen great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Carol Booher of Tennessee and Carol Booher of Kentucky; and several nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.

 

The funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017 in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Danny Thompson officiating. The interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Barker, Adam Blevins, Barry Ringley, Josh Ringley, Tony Blevins and Jeremiah Ringley. Honorary pallbearers will be Nickey Barker Jr., Billy Bob Barker and Chucky Barker. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
