Billy Lee Carter age 79 of Bowling Green, KY was born in St. Charles, VA on Wednesday, February 28, 1935, passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 21, 2015.

He was the butcher at Piggley Wiggley in Pennington Gap, VA and manager of the meat department at Piggly Wiggly in Big Stone Gap, VA.  He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service and after 25 years of service retired as Post Master of the Rose Hill, VA post office. He was honored as a Kentucky Colonel and was a charter member of the Cumberland Horse Association.  Bill was a well know AQHA quarter horse judge.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 58 years and mother of his children Patricia Doss Carter, father Ray Carter, mother Golden Robinette and step-father Ewing Zack Robinette.

Billy is survived by his wife Faye Bocock-Carter of Dryden, VA, three sons William Carter of Glen St. Mary, FL, Craig Carter (Diane) and Chris Carter-Flitz (Richard) all of Bowling Green, KY. He is also survived by seven grandchildren Brent Carter (Jessi),  Madison McIvor (Bobby), Dylan Carter all of Bowling Green, KY, Ashton Carter, Riley Carter, Mason Carter and Anslee Carter all of Glen St. Mary, FL and one sister Betty Carter Davis of Florida.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Province Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, VA. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary with Michael Dalton officiating. Burial will follow at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA.
