Miscellaneous Information | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1) Richard is mentioned in the will of James Snodgrass (Richard's father-in-law). 2) Richard's cause of death: senile disability. * Note per Webster researcher Steve Webster: "In doing my research, I've come across a curious item. Many, many people list Richard Barker Webster Sr's wife as Sarah Heath. I am curious where this information comes from, and if it has a source. I can't find one. The Pelham, NH Congregational Church records state Richard Webster married a Sally Hall in 1805, and various accounts of the Heath family state that Sarah Heath, born in Plymouth, NH in Sept. 1783 and the daughter of Samuel Heath and Sarah Webster, died unmarried on her father's farm in Bristol, NH. This seems to be the Sarah Heath most people claim as Richard's wife. I know sources can be wrong, but it does seem from this that it is more likely that Sally Hall was Richard's wife, not Sarah Heath". * Note per Webster researcher Catherine Van Ginkle:: "I
realize that the information I am about to share was not your primary focus
but figured I'd pass along what my mother (Harriet Whitesel, daughter to
Pauline Webster) had always told me re: Sarah Heath. My mom said she was
thankful to Sarah Heath because Richard Webster's first wife couldn't have
kids (who I am assuming was Sally, I've never heard this name). It is my
understanding that Sarah Heath was the woman who gave birth to all of
Richard's children. My mother always said she would not be alive had it not
been for Sarah Heath.
