Miscellaneous Information

1) Simon served in the Civil War.  He enlisted 11 Sep 1862 as a Sgt. 4th class, and was in Co. K, 64th VA Reg.  He was a POW 09 Sep 1863 at Cumberland Gap, TN; sent on 14 Mar 1864 to Fort Delaware, MD; died of disease on 17 May 1865, while a POW at Fort Delaware. We have copies of his muster rolls.
