Decommissioned, 1 February 1946, struck from the Naval Register and delivered to the Maritime Commission for lay up in the National Defense Reserve Fleet, Suisun Bay, Benicia, CA. on the same day, name reverted to SS James H. McClintock
Final Disposition, sold for scrapping, 13 February 1973, to Chi Shun Steel Co., Ltd., Taiwan, delivered 26 March 1973
