Burial:   Note that there is an Abel Andis buried in Carbon Center Cemetery in Vernon Co, MO.  At this time we do not know if this is "our" Abel Andis, but because of the unique name and the proximity to the last known area where he lived, we strongly believe this could be him.  The marker has no birth or death dates.

Miscellaneous Information
1) Wife of Abel Andis: Nancy J Jewell - born Aug 1838 - 1840 Vigo Co, IN; died after 1900 probably Henry or Jasper Co, MO; daughter of Jonathan Jewell (born c. 1819 Orange Co, IN) and Mary Ethington (born c. 1820 KY).

2) We show that Abel's wife, Nancy, was a widow by the 1900 Federal census, so we assume John was dead by this time.  She was living in Joplin, MO with her two youngest children and stated she had given birth to 11 children, 4 of whom were living.
