Brada Scott
The funeral for Brada M. Scott, 90, of Bismarck, formerly of Leeds and
Brinsmade, was held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Leeds Lutheran Church. Interment
was in the Leeds Lutheran Cemetery. She died July 6, 1994 at MedCenter One in
Bismarck.
Rev. Margaret Olson officiated. Jeanette Kenner was organist. Oleda Fogelson and
Ruth Schlieve sang. Pallbearers were Gary Rolle, Earl Stevens, Francis Fogelson,
Melvin Christianson, Alvin Kenner and Ronald Thompson. The Nelson Funeral Home
of Leeds was in charge of arrangements.
Brada May Sargent Scott was born March 15, 1904 at Burns City, Ind. to James J.
and Rose Ann Sipes Sargent. Following her education there, she married Paul J.
Scott on Jan. 24, 1924 at Solven, Ind. The couple moved to Brinsmade in 1930
where they farmed until 1967, when they retired and moved to Leeds. She worked
at the Brinsmade grocery store for several years and also at the Palace Cafe in
Leeds. He died Nov. 25, 1974. She lived in Leeds until 1989 when she moved to
Bismarck.
Survivors include three sons, Ernest of Devils Lake, Lloyd of Bismarck and
Francis of Fargo; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister,
Dorthy Wildrick of Muncie, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Virgil Scott; five brothers,
Claude, Noah, Charles, Ray and Joe Sargent; and two sisters, Addie Sargent and
Hazel Walls.
