Bob Jacobs, 60, of Harrold, died Saturday, May 6, 2006 at his residence
in Harrold.
Burial will be in Medicine Hill Cemetery, Harrold, with military honors,
directed by Luze Funeral Home of Highmore.
Robert "Bob" Jacobs was born on May 29, 1945, to Frank and Wilma (Weirauch)
Jacobs in Pierre. He attended grade school at Buckeye Country School and
graduated from Riggs High School in 1963. After high school Bob joined the
United States Army, serving during the Korean conflict. He was honorably
discharged and then returned to Pierre in December of 1964.
Bob married Lorraine Opp in 1978 and they moved to Harrold in 1986. His
hobbies included fishing, hunting, high school sporting events, woodworking
and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Lorraine of Harrold; two daughters, Jamie (Bill)
Schied of Harrold and Tanya (Tim) Reiser of Pierre; two stepdaughters,
Janice (Claude) Roebuck of Sioux Falls and Colleen (Albert) Larson of
Dallas, Texas; one stepson, Steve (Raeann) Opp of Gregory; sisters Alice
Hillmer of Harrold, Betty (Pat) Haisch of Blunt and Doris (Jerry)
Hendrickson of Arkansas; brothers Tom (Laura) Jacobs of Stratford, Jerry
Jacobs of Spencer, Iowa, and Roger Jacobs of Sioux Falls; 18 grandchildren,
three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his father Frank, mother Wilma, brother Jim,
sister Joyce, infant brother Charles and infant twin sons.
