Bardstown Apr 5th 1862

I now take the opportunity to let you know how I am. I am well as ever. I don't expect to stay here much longer for we think we shall get our pay soon. I heard from the Regiment and it was at Cumberland Ford. I am about 15 pounds heaver than I ever was before don't forget that pig, don't write to me so often for I don't get the time to read them, I don't expect to stay here long but don't know how long we shall stay but Direct to Bardstown KY.

how long have you dead in Martin County, what is John doing I don't hear enny thing from him lately
