CASTLEWOOD - Cynthia Lampkin Sproles, 87, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003, at Russell County Medical Center, Lebanon.

She was born in Carterton, Va., daughter of the late Henry King and Rebecca Elizabeth Sexton Worley. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Lampkin. She attended St. Paul Assembly of God, St. Paul, Va.

She is survived by her husband, Guy R. Sproles; three daughters, Elizabeth Ingle of Castlewood, Mary Patrick of McComb, Mich., and Barbara Hurd of Lakeland, Fla.; two sons, Frank Lampkin of Pahrump, Nev., and Edgar Lampkin of Ko Komo, Ind.; one stepdaughter, Carolyn Winebarger of Lebanon; six stepsons, Raymond Sproles of Aberdeen, N.C., Melvin Sproles of Castlewood, Kenneth Sproles of Abingdon, Tim Sproles of Burke, Va., Ronald Sproles of Claremont, N.C., and Ralph Sproles of Dante, Va.; six grandchildren, Michael Hurd of Lakeland, Yvonne Winchell of Dandridge, Tenn., Scott Lampkin of Claypool, Ind., Lisa Mebs of Lakeland, Dean Patrick of New Baltimore, Mich., and Anita Townsend of Lakeland; 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Cynthia Lampkin Sproles will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, with Rev. Glenn Hammacker and Rev. Tim Collins officiating. Committal services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood. The family will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Barney Rose, Miles Sutherland, Wayne McFadden, Melvin Sproles, Denver Ingle and Malcolm Minton. Honorary pallbearers will be Garland Cox and Paul Ball.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, in Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood.
