Obituary - Dorothy Frances (Shepherd) Fulton
FULTON, DOROTHY FRANCES SHEPHERD BLOUNTVILLE -- Dorothy Frances Shepherd Fulton,
66, of Misty Waters died Friday, May 3, 2002, at home after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Inman, Va., a daughter of the late Walter and Verdie Brewer
Shepherd. She lived in Tampa, Fla., from 1971 until 1993, when she moved to
Blountville. She was a member of Boone's Creek United Methodist Church. She is
survived by her husband of 30 years, Jesse Fulton of the home; two daughters,
Yvonne Arnold Baldwin of Gray, Tenn., and Sandra Arnold Rutledge of Kingsport; a
son, Tony Arnold of Kingsport; four sisters, Edna Rasnick, Mary Mahan, Nadine
Suttle and Flo Johnson, all of Marion, NC; two brothers, Paul Shepherd and Roy
Shepherd, both of Bristol, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Daniel W. Arnold,
Christina Arnold, Diva Rutledge, Dena Rutledge, Devin Rutledge, Emily R. Baldwin
and Molly V. Baldwin; four stepchildren, Carolyn Little of Lexington, SC, Julie
Bryan of Challis, Idaho, Sharon Howgate of Jacksonville and Jimmy Fulton of
Tampa; 11 step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces
and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 until 6:45 Sunday evening at
Oakley-Cook Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. in the
funeral home chapel with Rev. Danny Hensley and Rev. James Garland officiating.
The committal service and entombment will be at 11 o'clock Monday morning in
Chapel of Memories Mausoleum in Glenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions may be sent to the Medical Center Hospice, 1807 W. Market St.,
Johnson City, TN 37604 or the American Cancer Society, 2513 Wesley St., Suite 4,
