Mrs. Edith Loraine Garrett, age 85, a well known resident of Washington County, Virginia passed away Friday, May 7, 2010. She was born in Lebanon, Virginia the daughter of the late Dewey & Nora Tignor Ferguson. She was a member of the Valley View Missionary Baptist Church on Rt. 700 in Washington County, Virginia.

She is survived by her husband, Howard E. Garrett of Abingdon, Virginia; One son, Lynnwood Garrett and wife Margaret of Knoxville, Tennessee; One sister, Vada Scyphers of Bristol, Tennessee; One brother, Virgil Ferguson and wife Millie of Abingdon, Virginia; 7 Grandchildren & 9 Great-Grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Edith Garrett will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 9, 2010 in the Valley View Missionary Baptist Church with The Rev. Kenneth Widner officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Church Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Frost Funeral Home on Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.
