JOHNSTON, Elizabeth Evelyn Age 80 of Troy, formerly of Dayton, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2005 at the Upper Valley Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born December 21, 1924 in Windrock, TN, daughter of the late William M. & Nellie Ann (Finger) Williams. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Northridge and the Recycled Teenagers Club of the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leslie Earl Johnston in 1996; 3 brothers, Harry, Elmer & Bill & 3 sisters, Pearl, Maude & Ruby. Elizabeth is survived by 1 daughter, Pamela Ann Johnston of Troy; 1 son & daughter-in-law, Earl Duane & Bev Johnston of Troy; 1 sister, Ethel Eldert of Dayton; 3 grandchildren, Wendy & husband Todd Bair, Cassie & husband Scott Parsons & Adam & wife Jamie Johnston; 3 great grandchildren, Elizabeth Grace Bair, Natalie Faith Bair & Allyson Noelle Johnston and numerous other relatives & friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, April 13 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Rev. Steve Veg officiating. Burial at Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 to 8 P.M. If so desired contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Northridge in Evelyn's memory. When Evelyn's health was failing, her great-granddaughter, Liza wisely said, "God will have another angel soon." Although we'll miss Evelyn's smile and her loving heart, we gladly return her to God.
