Obituary - Guy Howard Slusher
SLUSHER, Guy Howard, 65, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, December 31, 1995.
He was an engineer with Norfolk and Western, and a member of Melrose Masonic Lodge #139, the Scottish Rite Bodies, Kazim Temple, United Transportation Union, and was a deacon at First Church of the Brethren.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Kilby Slusher; a son and daughter-in-law, Gregory Alan and Nina Bean Slusher; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen S. and Mitch Wade, and Beth and David Simmons; five grandchildren, Melissa and Freddie Hutchins, Gregory Alan Slusher Jr., Elizabeth Slusher and John Howard Simmons, and two brothers, Hugh Slusher and Marvin Slusher.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, 1996, at Oakey's North Chapel, with the Rev. David R. Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Oakey's North Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
