Herbert "Herb" Whitham 59, of Westfield, died Thursday, June 3, 2004. He was the son of Raymond and Margie Heath Whitham, who survive. Herb retired in 2001 from Carmel Post Office. He was an Army veteran and served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Carmel American Legion Post #155; VFW #10003 and Murat Shrine. In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife of 38 years, Bonnie DeFord Whitham; son, Fred (Angie) Whitham; daughters, Dee Dee (Wes) Nehrling, Missy Whitham; 2 grandsons; sisters, Jeanette Knaus and Janet Sullivan. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Leppert Mortuary, Smith Carmel Chapel where the Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
