NEARLY A CENTENARIAN.

Jesse Luallen, the oldest resident of Macon county, died Saturday [Aug. 29th] at his home in the southeast part of Maroa, aged 99 years, 5 months and 25 days. Deceased was born near Knoxville, Tenn., Mar. 4, 1803. When he was 12 years old his parents moved to Indiana where they lived 12 years, and then moved to Illinois near Blue Mound. He lived in Maroa about 20 years. In 1841 he was married to Miss Rhoda McNancy, who survives him. Twelve children were born to them, five of whom are living. The only picture he ever had taken was about four months ago when a Register representative induced him to sit for a picture. The Register contained a column write-up of him at that time.

Note: The previous Register article gave his birth date as March 4, 1804, and his wife's maiden name as Rhoda McNanny. Rhoda died October 3, 1914, according the Illinois Statewide Death Index.
