Obituary - Mary A Barker
Mary A. Barker, age 91, former resident of Mendota, VA, went to be with the Lord
Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Bristol Nursing Home. She was born January 1, 1919 in
Mendota, VA, a daughter of the late Hendricks and Mammie Cunningham Barker. She
was a lifelong resident of Mendota, VA. Mary was a member of Mendota Baptist
Church where she served as treasurer for many years. In addition to her parents,
she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Mildred K. Barker and uncle Gilmer
Cunningham.
She is survived by her special friends, Danny and Nell Crowe and Rev. Jim Cumbow and wife Regina Funeral service will be held Monday, July 5, 2010 at 12 noon at Mendota Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Cumbow and Rev. Joe Durant officiating. The burial will follow in Mendota Cemetery. Friends will gather from 11-12PM prior to the service. Pallbearers will be friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Mendota Baptist Church and the Mendota Community. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mendota Baptist Church at P.O. Box 143 Mendota, VA 24270 or the Mendota Cemetery Association at P.O. Box 175 Mendota, VA 24270.
