Obituary - Nellie (Pendergrass) Garrett
GARRETT, NELLIE GLADNESS PENDERGRASS BLUFF CITY -- Funeral services for Nellie Gladness Pendergrass Garrett will be conducted at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001, in Shakesville Church of Christ with Pastor Wayne Lambert and Ernie Depew officiating. Burial will follow in Sunrise Cemetery, Bluff City. Pallbearers will be the following grandsons: Jerry W. Booher, James Beryl Casaday Jr., Gary L. Garrett, Larry E. Casaday, Steve L. Casaday, Don E. Casaday, C. Alan Casaday and Lynn Helbert. Honorary pallbearers will be the following great-grandsons: Jonah Casaday, Kevin Hess, Brian Casaday, David Casaday, Josh Ringley, Matt Ringley, T.J. Sells, Jared Williams, Michael Venable, Tony Brewer, Ian Garrett and elders and deacons of Shakesville Church of Christ. Frances Depew and Jr. Holsclaw will sing arrangements of "Not Afraid" and "Shepherd Of My Valley." The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, at Akard Funeral Home.

chartertn.net. Mrs. Garrett went to be with the Lord Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001. She
was 92 years old when she passed away at home, 1181 Silver Grove Rd. Mrs.
Garrett was a member of Shakesville Church of Christ for many years. The
following family members preceded her in death: her husband, Clarence Lee
Garrett, son, Claude E. "Pete" Garrett; daughter, Juanita Willis; brothers,
Charles Hughes, Daniel Pendergrass, Luther Pendergrass and Albert Pendergrass;
sisters, Maime Garrett, Louise Garrett, Lilly Roetta Mays, Dora Vestal and
Catherine Pendergrass. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Lestol (Lawanda)
Booher of Bristol, Va., Mrs. Homer G. (Imogene) Mitchell and Mrs. James B.
(Lois) Casaday, both of Bluff City, and Betty G. Helbert of Bristol, Va. Also
surviving are 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; four
great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Akard Funeral Home is
