Obituary - Ellen Elizabeth (Sanberg) Scott

Ellen Scott, 89, Devils Lake, ND, formerly of Brinsmade, ND passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Heartland Care Center in Devils Lake, ND. Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Leeds Lutheran Church, Leeds, ND with Pastor Michael Pretzer officiating. Visitation will be Monday, February 2, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home in Leeds. Visitation on Tuesday will be for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Ellen Elizabeth was born on July 14, 1925 to Josef and Emma (Nelson) Sandberg in Devils Lake, ND. She attended school in Harlow, ND and graduated from 8th grade. She married Virgil Scott on December 23, 1946 in Minnewaukan, ND. She worked on the farm with her husband and also worked for 20 plus years at Sioux Manufacturing. Ellen was a very sweet lady who loved gardening and going fishing. She was a life-long member of the VFW in Devils Lake.

Ellen is survived by children Francis Scott of McClusky, ND and Harold (Helga) Jenson of Lawton, OK, 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and siblings Lois Swenson and Pete Sandberg. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Virgil, and siblings: Alice Schultz, Donna Bird, Carol Schultz, Johnny Sandberg, Curtis Sandberg, Joe Sandberg and Wilhelm Sandberg.

Interment will be in the Leeds Lutheran Cemetery in the spring.
