Ellen M. Andis , 71, of Terre Haute, passed away Friday afternoon, Feb. 15,
2008, in Union Hospital. She was born on March 14, 1936, in Terre Haute, to
Charles Isaac Payne and Vellie Mae Leslie Payne.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Andis , whom she married in 1966; four
children, Fred Cottom and his wife Linda, April Wolaver and her husband
Lyle, all of Terre Haute, Debbie Hutchison and her husband Herb of Columbus,
Ohio, and Bob Andis and his wife Tammy of Tampa, Fla; grandchildren, Shane
Cottom and his wife Jenny, Brooke White and her husband Shawn, Kate Fry and
her husband Aaron, Jackson Wolaver, Shelly Breehl and her husband Bill, Brad
Hutchison and his wife Trista, Robbie Andis and his wife Jamie, Jeremy Andis
and his wife Melanie, Stephanie Robision and her husband Robert, Glen
Sellers and his wife Jen, and Lucas Odom; great-grandchildren, Alex Beeson,
Riley Hutchison, Alexa Hutchison, Gabby Hutchison, Noah Andis , Alexis Andis
, Savannah Robision, Taylor Breehl, and Blake Breehl; a sister, Mary "Buddy"
Donham of North Carolina; brothers, Ronnie Payne, and Don Payne and his wife
Phyllis; and several nieces, nephews, and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; eight siblings, Nola McIntosh,
Mildred Manhart, Cloetine "Teen" Cartwright, James William Payne, Charles
Payne, Robert Payne, Loren Wayne Payne and Hobart Payne; and a
great-granddaughter, Addyson Jean Breehl.
She was a member of Mount Aetna Baptist Church. She also was a Red Hat
Society member and a member of several Bunco clubs. She loved people, and
having company, she was a person who would do anything for anyone, and she
was a person, people could always count on. She loved cooking and
Thanksgiving.
Funeral services are 1 p.m. Tuesday in Roselawn Funeral Home, 7500 N.
Clinton St., with Pastor Richard Dragon officiating. Burial is in Roselawn
Memorial Park. Visitation is 11 a.m. until service time Tuesday in the
funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ellen 's name may be made to
the Mount Aetna Baptist Church.
