Obituary - Grover Ray Winegar

BLOUNTVILLE – Grover Ray "Grove" Winegar, age 88 of Blountville passed away
Wednesday June 1, 2011. Grove was a native of and lived more than 70 years
in Sullivan County, TN; he was raised in Hawkins County, TN. He was the son
of the late John Lee and Laura Bell Barger Winegar. Grove was a member of
Plum Grove Baptist Church and had attended Blountville Presbyterian Church
for many years. Grove was respected and loved by all of his many friends and
acquaintances. His entire life was spent as a farmer and he took great pride
in the cattle and crops he raised.
In addition to his parents he was preceded
in death by three siblings; sisters, Emmeline Harr and Gladys Anderson;
brother, Maxwell Winegar.
He leaves behind his faithful and loving
wife of almost 63 years, Lucille "Lucy" Harr Winegar; two sons, Gary Winegar
and wife Mary; Mark Winegar and wife, Fern; both of Blountville; two
daughters, Suzanne Dobbs and husband Eugene, Kingsport; and Sherry
Longworth, Blountville and fiancée Glen Mumpower, Bristol. Grandchildren,
Tracie Mitchell and husband Jerry, Pam Johnson and husband Terry, Jason
Winegar and wife Cindy, Stephanie Large and husband Aaron, David Dobbs,
Rachel Dobbs, Aaron Longworth, and Eli Queen; step-granddaughter, Tanisha
Dover; ten great-grandchildren; step-brother, Tom Winegar and wife Bettie.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 4, 2011
from 11 am to 1 pm at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be
conducted at 1 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Ike Brighton,
officiating.
Graveside services will follow in East
Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be David Dobbs, Aaron Michael
Longworth, Jason Winegar, David Jackson, Max Winegar and Steve Jones.
Honorary pallbearers; Claude Whittaker, Jack McCroskey, Eli Queen, Charlie
Mays, Danny Rutherford, Jerry Harr, and Roger Longworth, Sr.

Blountville Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 424, Blountville, TN 37617. The
Winegar family would like to extend a special thanks to Joyce and Melissa of
Amedisys Hospice and to the staff at Wellmont Bristol and Wexford House.
