Hattie M. Parker , 88, Sandusky, passed away Thursday night, Jan. 15,
2009, in Providence Care Center after a long battle with Alzheimer's
disease.
She was born Aug. 25, 1920, in Needmore, Ind., to Carrie and William Casada.
She married Cecil B. Parker Sr. on May 9, 1936, and he preceded her in death
in 1984. Hattie resided in Castalia most of her life. She was a member of
the Westside Baptist Church. She worked as a chef for many years at the
Castalia Trout Club and enjoyed cooking for her family.
She is survived by her son, Cecil B. (Myrtle) Parker Jr.; four daughters, Donita (John) Lawhorn, Arlene Sue Herholz, Brenda (Tony) Zahel and Valarie (Tim) Markley; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grand-children; many stepgrandchildren; and a special sister in-law, Joan Casada of Bedford, Ind.
Hattie was preceded in death by her husband and parents; granddaughter,
Johnna; four brothers and five sisters.
Friends may call from 11 a.m., Monday, until services at 1 p.m. in Ransom
Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia. The Rev. Philip Gardner will
be officiating. A private family burial will be Tuesday in Castalia
Cemetery.
