Obituary - Henry Hisley Lyon
HENRY H. LYON
82, of Springfield, peacefully passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2014. He
was born November 6, 1931 in Loogootee, Indiana, the son of Robert C. and
Vera (Kutch) Lyon.
Henry went to work on the New York Central Railroad on Novembeer 17, 1950, then Penn Central Railroad, and retired June 30, 1994 from Conrail, for a career of 43-1/2 years as a locomotive engineer.
He was a member of Michael L. Finnell Lodge #711, F. & A.M., in Fairborn, Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, Antioch Temple, of Dayton, and the Fairborn Shrine Club.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rose A. (Waggoner) Lyon; three daughters and a son-in-law, Deborah K. Gordin, of South Charleston, Diane F. Lyon, of Springfield, and Kathy A. and Steven A. Smith, of South Vienna; one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph R. and Christianna Lyon, of Aiken, South Carolina; six grandchildren, Audra (Smith) and husband, Tony Cremeans, of Plain City, Ohio, Rachel (Smith) and husband, Tony Clum, of Galloway, Ohio, Lance Gordin, of Bardstown, Kentucky, Martin Gordin, of Springfield, Seth Lyon, of Tallahassee, Flordia, Sophie Lyon, of Aiken, South Carilina; five great-grandchildren, Aiden and Addison Cremeans, Whitney and Noah Clum, and Ty Gordin.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. in Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home. The service to honor Henry's life will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Memorial Home.
