James Elverett Henry, 79, Indianapolis, died March 13, 2005, at Richard L.
Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis.
The son of the late James Andrew and Maggie Lee (Coleman) Henry, he was born
March 18, 1925, in Twinton, Tenn. His wife, Ruth (Stapleton) Henry,
survives.
Henry retired after three years as a crane operator for Harding Construction
in Plainfield. He had been a crane operator for 50 years for various
companies.
He was honorably discharged from the Army on Dec. 10, 1945, after World War
II.
Other survivors include two sons, Charles W. Henry, Indianapolis, and Leary
Ray Henry, Paragon; daughter, Linda K. Fidler, Indianapolis; two brothers,
Ernest Henry, Mooresville, and Franklin D. Henry, Martinsville; three
sisters, Velma L. Alger, Mooresville, and D. Hamblen and Martha J. Wilson,
both of Martinsville; eight grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
