He was the son of Dorothy Stephens Hoffpauir and Winan Joseph Hoffpauir. He
graduated from Milby High School of Houston and attended Southwestern

He had a true gift of transforming his outdoor surroundings into striking
lush gardens of blooming plants and flowers, attracting birds and
butterflies of all types.
Steve had a love for all things culinary including good wine. He was well
known for his gracious hospitality, welcoming family and friends with
wonderfully cooked meals, lovingly prepared and beautifully served. Papa
Steve’s home cooking was always a favorite among family.
Out of all of his wonderful gifts and talents, Steve was most passionate
about his love for his wife, his five children and his thirteen
grandchildren (with one on the way), whom he encouraged and cherished
spending time with.
Steve was preceded in death by his brother Winan Joseph Hoffpauir II and his
