Jordan B. "J.B." Rose, 89, of Kimball, formerly of Capels, went to be with the Lord Monday evening, Oct. 16, 2006 at Welch Community Hospital after a long illness.
Born March 11, 1917 at Twin Branch, he was the son of the late Daniel Glen Rose and Lillie Morgan Rose. He was a retired coal miner having worked last at Hemphill. He was an avid horse lover. He was affiliated with the Protestant faith. He and his late wife Loranza traveled to several local churches where they sang and he played guitar. He was a resident of Capels most of his life, and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 50 years, Loranza Ulisse Rose on April 30, 1986; three brothers and two sisters.
He leaves to cherish his memories three daughters, Nina Landers and husband Brown of Columbia Station, Ohio, Sue Martin and husband John of Mexico Beach, Fla., Dreama Legato and husband Rocco of Kimball; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted today, Thursday, Oct. 19 at 1:00 p.m. at the Widener Funeral Home Chapel, Kimball with Pastor Ron Felts officiating. Burial will follow at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton. Friends may call Thursday (today) from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
