Obituary - Joseph W DeSeure
Joseph W. DeSeure, 71, of Kansas City, KS, passed away February 18, 2004, at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, February 20, 2004, at the Maple Hill Funeral Home. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Friends may call 12noon-3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, family asks that contributions be made to The Joseph DeSeure Memorial Fund, c/o Industrial State Bank, PO Box 6007, Kansas City, KS 66106. The funds will be used to support the Kansas City, KS Community Police Officers.
Joseph was born in Kansas City, MO and had lived in the Argentine area of
Kansas City, KS all of his life. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Joseph worked as a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service for 34 years, retiring
in 1987. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church; the VFW
40 and 8; The American Legion Post #111; the KC Citizens Patrol and the
Southwest Argentine Neighborhood Group.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Bertha DeSeure, an
infant daughter, Elizabeth Ann and a daughter-in-law, Carol DeSeure.
Survivors include his wife, Jean DeSeure of the home; his children and their
spouses, Allen and Kay Milan, David and Sharon DeSeure, Donald and Peggy
DeSeure, Joey and Cindy DeSeure, Debbie and Frank Losensky, Danny and Linda
DeSeure; a brother, Frank DeSeure; two sisters, Dorothy DeGraeve and Shirley
Zagar; 23 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and his "Reich's Family."
