Obituary - Kenneth F Brock

Kenneth F. Brock went to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at the
age of 81 years and 10 months. He was born July 6, 1929 to Lewis and Minnie
Maness Brock at Grays Knob, Kentucky in Harlan County. He was the third
child in a family of eight children.
Kenneth left home at the age of 17 to go to work for
Porcelain Steel in Connersville which later became H. H. Robertson. He
retired from there as a quality superintendent after 37 years of employment.
During the Korean War, Kenneth was inducted to the U.S. Army where he served
for two years during the tenure of employment as Porcelain Steel. Shortly
after his honorable discharge, he married the former Beatrice Burch, and
they made their home in Connersville until 1992 when they moved to
Princeton, Kentucky. For the last few years Kenneth and Bea had made their
home in Bright, near Lawrenceburg. Kenneth became a Christian as a young boy
and was an active member of Western Avenue Baptist Church, South Side
Baptist Church in Princeton, Kentucky, and Friendship Baptist Church in
Colerain, Ohio. For many years, he was very active with Gideons
International, In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and traveling,
especially to the Holy Lands. Kenneth loved sports, but particularly
Cincinnati Reds baseball and listening to University of Kentucky basketball
on the radio.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years: Beatrice Burch
Brock; son: Kenneth W. Brock of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; three grandsons:
Regan M. Brock and his wife, Elizabeth; Brandon N. Brock, and Dakota W.
Brock; three great grandchildren: Madison M., Audrey J., and Aiden M. Brock;
two brothers: Reverend Clarence R. Brock and Reverend Archie C. Brock and
his wife, Ada all of Cadiz, Kentucky, several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Kenneth in death are: a daughter: Rhonda Gail
Brock, who died November 25, 1970; two brothers: Alvin L. Brock; Lacy W.
Brock; three sisters: Iris Lorene Peace; Dorothy J. Wooten; Norma E.
Gregory.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at
3:00 p.m. at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel,
Connersville, with Pastor Gary Jackson of Friendship Baptist Church
officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home Saturday from 1:30 p.m.
until the time of the service, where memorial contributions may be made to
Gideons International or Friendship Baptist Church.
