GRIFFITH, Lavina E. - Age 93, of Flushing, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2009 at Durand Senior Care and Rehab Center.

Lavina worked as a music teacher, retiring in 1976.

Funeral Services will be held 1 pm, Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Nelson-House Funeral Home with Rev. Teresa Peterson officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Flint. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11 am until the time of the service.

Lavina was born on June 2, 1915, in Lennon, the daughter of Ernest and Vera (Adams) Kitchen. On April 26, 1935 she married George Lloyd Griffith in Flint. He predeceased her on November 22, 1976.

She was a member of the Flushing Presbyterian Church. She was also a charter and life member of the Flint Theatre Organ Club.

Survivors include her brother, Beryl (Evelyn) Kitchen; several nieces and nephews; and special friends.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Flushing Senior Center.
