Lettis Marie Anderson was born march 6, 1934, in Tiger, Washington. She passed away at the age of 83, on August 12, 2017 at her house in Prosser, Washington.

She was the first child born to her parents William Harrison Anderson and Lettis Ann Shaffer. Lettis is a very old family name, but she always went by Marie, (her mom always went by Letty) she first lived in Newman lake, Washington. Her mother told her that their house was constructed as a shciken house, but that they rented it as a a home before any chickens occupied it. They moved from Newman Lake to St. Maries, Idaho, when Marie was about four, to an area called Milltown. She lived in St. Maries and graduated from high school there in 1952.

She became a dental assistant in St. Maries. She married Melvin Ray McGary in 1953, and they lived in Emida Idaho, They moved back and forth numerous times living in Albion, WA; Moscow, ID; Lewiston, ID; Juliaetta, ID. She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint in 1953. She taught their children to be honest and hardworking. Marie spent most of her life as a homemaker but did have a few outside jobs after her children were grown. The talent she was probably most known for was her sewing. She made many quilts and other hand made items, and either sold them or gave them away. Her hot pads are located all around the world as her friends would them to give as gifts as they travel abroad.

Having six children made it necessary that she raised a large garden, canned 100's of quarts of food, mended, did laundry, and made 10 loaves of bread at a time, and was the center of her home. She loved to sing and on road trips would get the whole family joining in. Mel and Marie moved to Walla Walla in 1976. Mel died from cancer in 2002. She moved to Prosser from Walla Walla in 2010. She married Verno Ferris Larson in October of 2011.

Marie is survived by husband Verno Larson; children: Christopher Ray McGary (Patty), Mark Raymond McGary (Donna), Leona Sue Schuetze (Doug), Katrina Marie Sell Hausen (Dave), Jennifer Ann Esslinger (Don) and Matthew Lee McGary (Karla)l grandchildren: Sharon (McGary) Lind, Jesse (Ferguson) Grand, Terri Jo (Ferguson) Boyd, Anna (McGary) Caro, Clark McGary, Clynt Schuetze, Gabrielle McGary, Jordana Grand, Liam Grand; sister, Edna Weatherford; brother, John Anderson. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harrison and Letty Anderson; brothers Lee and Gilbert; husband, Melvin Ray McGary; grandson, Allen McGary.
