Obituary
L.C. Hobbs, Jr., age 81, of Bristol, Va., went to be with the Lord on
Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at The Cambridge House.
He was born September 22, 1936 in Washington County, Va., a son of the
late Luba Carlyle Hobbs, Sr. and Angeleen Pesto Trivette. L.C. was a
lifelong resident of the Bristol area. He was a dairy farmer for 42 years
and a former board member for the Virginia Farm Bureau and Southern States
Coop. L.C. was a member of Revival Center Baptist Church where he served as
the Youth Sunday School teacher for 40 years and Deacon for 54 years. In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Vaden L.
Hobbs; and three brothers, Joseph, Stanley and Mack Hobbs.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Phyllis Ann Denton Hobbs;
children, special son, Louis Keller and wife Debbie, Lisa E. Nunley and
husband David, and Dr. Shean J. Hobbs; grandchildren, Wesley, Alisha and
husband Jonathan, Ashley, Kayla, Courtney, Tiffany, Kenzie, Donna and
Amanda; great grandchildren, Charlotte Anne and Hazael Nunley; sisters, June
Butler, Wava Collins, Christine Williams and Theresa Hobbs; brother, Tony
Hobbs; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 2018 at
Revival Center Baptist Church, 19752 Benhams Rd, Bristol, VA, with Pastor
Lyons Smith and Brother Leo Rhymer officiating. The interment will follow at
Cedar Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m.
Friday, February 2, 2018 at the church. Pallbearers will be Calvin Williams,
Wesley Nunley, Mark Hobbs, Ben Harlow, Arlin Denton, Louis Keller, Brian
Barker, Mike Canter and Ashley Hobbs. Honorary pallbearers will be Brother
Ed Davis, Gary Davison, Brian Denton, Wayne Eades, Arthur McCroskey, Dr.
Brett Odum, Sheridan Pope, and the men of Revival Center Baptist Church. The
family would like to extend a special thanks to the Staff of The Cambridge
House for all their loving care and support.
