Before retiring and moving to Lake Havasu City in November
of 1979, Marcell spent 38 years with 3 different women's wear chains in LA
as a manager and supervisor. In Lake Havasu she was a member of The Do
Nothing Club, and Western Welcome. Her first endeavor was to design floats
for the club to enter in the London Bridge Day Parade. She was very proud of
the two award winning plaques for prize winning floats that hang on her
kitchen wall. She was a member of the yacht club for 10 years, and was Vice
President of the Burgee Girls. As a member of St. Michael's United Methodist
Church she served on the Mission Commission, and designed a float for the
London Bridge Day Parade. Marcell enjoyed being a member of the London
Bridge Republican Women's Club, and actively campaigned for her
friend Max Craven for mayor. She organized a fashion show and silent auction
entitled "Romance Along the Colorado" and convinced city leaders and club
members to model in "Putting on the Glitz".
She enjoyed sewing with the Havasu Stitchers, and exercising in the aquatic pool. Marcell traveled in the United States, and Europe, especially enjoying Maui, Alaska, Canada, England, France, and Italy.
She was a woman of immense energy and enthusiasm for life, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A memorial service by family will be held at the Carterville Cemetery in Carterville, Missouri. Donations may be made in her honor to a charity of choice.
Arrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home &
Crematory.
