Obituary - Marion Zane Thompson
M.Z. "Rink" Thompson of Tecumseh died Friday. He was 71.
He was born Oct. 25, 1928, in Avoca. He was the son of Leslie Lloyd and
Laura Mamie (Nail) Thompson.
He attended school in Wanette. He was reared in Asher, Wanette and the Saint
Louis area and moved to Tecumseh six months ago.
On July 20, 1981, he married Pam Long in Asher. He worked in the oil field
most of his life, working as a drilling contractor.
He is a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. Thompson was a
member of Bible Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Don Thompson.
Survivors include his wife, Pam Thompson of the home; three daughters, Nancy
Hughes, Asher; Charlotte Ingram, Tecumseh; Darla Huff, St. Louis; one son,
Jack Thompson, Asher; two stepchildren, Melissa Schulze, Oklahoma City;
Steven Schulze, Asher; two sisters, Joyce Lowder, Oklahoma City; Monta
Bradshaw, Dallas, Texas; brother, Olen Thompson, Macomb; former wife, Jackie
Thompson, St. Louis; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with Kent Merrill
officiating. Burial will be at Wanette Cemetery.
