Orah Belle Scott

Mrs. Noah Scott, 88, a resident of Beverly for more than 50 years, passed away Thursday night [June 16] at the Good Samaritan Home in Ellsworth where she had lived the past year.

Born May 5, 1872, in Illinois, she came to Kansas when she was six years old and spent the remainder of her life in Lincoln and Ellsworth counties.

Mrs. Scott was a member of the Congregational Christian church in Lincoln.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Edith Nelson of Salina, Mrs. Ruth Blynn of Hobbs, N.M., Mrs. Neil Upjohn of Bennington, Mrs. Ada Galloway of Exeter, Calif., and Mrs. Stucker of Fresno, Calif.; three sons, R.C. Scott of Dodge City, R.E. Scott of Ness City, and Donald Scott of Beverly; two brothers, Ward and Ped Sturdevent, living in Illinois; a sister, Mrs. Maude Mordoff of Harlington, Tex.; 20 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

The funeral for Mrs. Scott was held Saturday at the Hall Memorial Chapel in Lincoln, conducted by the Rev. Roy L. Hendrickson. Burial was made in the Beverly cemetery.
