Obituary - Patricia Helen (Markland) Stroup

Pat Stroup, age 79, went to be with the Lord December 18, 2013.

 She was born January 9 1934, in Philadelphia, Pa., the daughter of the late William Markland and Grace Renner Markland. Mrs. Stroup was a proof operator for the Federal Reserve and Dominion Bank; she also was a nurse assistant at Fort Shelby Manor and a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Donell Stroup.

She is survived by her children, David Stroup, Sandra Brewer, Donna Kemberling, and Tammy Taylor; grandchildren, Josh Brewer, Cory and Savannah Doss, Jessica, and Ashley Taylor; two step granddaughters, Kelly Stine and Amber Kemberling; great-granddaughter, Macie Doss; step great-grandchildren, Emily, Cole and Eryn Stine; brothers, William, Charles and Paul Markland; sister, Grace Lloyd; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, December 21, 2013, at Higher Ground Fellowship located in Bristol, Va., with Pastor Travis Ingle officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations maybe made to the family to help with funeral expenses. Weaver Funeral Home and Cremation Services are in charge.
