Obituary - Peggy D (Childress) Beamon

DANVILLE - Peggy Childress Beamon, 60, of 1244 Westover Drive, died Friday, June 29, 2007 at her residence. She had been in declining health for several years.
Born Feb. 4, 1947, in Danville, she was the daughter of Dewey Childress and the late Doris Shepherd Childress.
Mrs. Beamon was a member of Holland Road Baptist Church. Most of her life was spent in Danville and, until her decline in health, she was employed by Dan River Inc.
She was married to Joseph Beamon Sr.
In addition to her husband, of the residence, and her father, she is survived by two sons, Joseph Beamon Jr. and his wife, Karen, of Danville and Gary Beamon, of the residence; a daughter, Bridgett Smith, of Atlanta, Ga.; a brother, Billy Childress, of Walkertown, N.C.; a sister, Sandra Childress of Providence, N.J.; and a grandson, Alex Beamon.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 2 at Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 1 at Swicegood Funeral Home; at other times they will be at the residence, 1244 Westover Drive.
